NACRA Sevens 2010 Tournament Format

NACRA Sevens 2009The playing format for both the NACRA Men's and Women's Sevens has recently been announced.

In the Men's tournament reigning champions Guyana are grouped alongside Cayman, Jamaica and St Lucia in Pool A while in Pool B 2009 runners up Trinidad and Tobago are in the 5 team pool with Bahamas, Mexico, Barbados and BVI.

Day 1 Pools:

Pool A:
Guyana, Cayman, Jamaica, St Lucia

Pool B: Trinidad & tobago, Bahamas, Mexico, Barbados, BVI

 

Men's Day 2 Format:

Top 3 teams from the Day 1 pools will move forward into the Cup competition and the 4th placed team in Pool A and 4th & 5th placed teams in Pool B will play off in a rond robin Plate competition on Day 2, with each team playing each other twice.

Stage 2 - Cup Knockout Phase:

Semi-final 1: 1st Cup Pool 1 v 2nd Cup Pool 2
Semi-final 2: 2nd Cup Pool 1 v 1st Cup Pool 2

5th / 6th Play off: 3rd Cup Pool 1 v 3rd Cup Pool 2

3rd / 4th Play off: Loser SF 1v Loser SF 2

Final: Winner SF 1 v Winner SF 2

Womens Sevens 2009

NACRA Women's Sevens Format:

The Women's tournament consists of 6 teams (Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Mexico, Cayman Islands and St Lucia) who will play a round robin tournament commencing on Day 1 and concluding early morning of Day 2. After the conclusion of the round robin, which will see a total of 15 matches played, teams will be seeded according to their overall results against each team. A knockout tournament will follow with the following matches taking place:

Semi-final 2: 2nd Seed v 3rd Seed

5th / 6th Play off: 5th Seed v 6th Seed

3rd / 4th Play off: Loser SF 1 v Loser SF 2
