Mexico Sevens

As Unions will be aware, the 2009 Men's and Women's NACRA Sevens are scheduled for Mexico City, November 14th & 15th 2009. The tournament is open to all Unions within the region, irrespective of whether they are Associate / Full members of NACRA or the IRB, provided that all players meet the eligibility criteria below.

 

Tournament Venue:

The Venue for the tournament is the National University Stadium which is in the South of Mexico City.

 

Tournament Subsidy:

As with all NACRA tournaments, an IRB tournament subsidy is available for all Unions who are either Associate or Full Members of the IRB. An estimate of each team's subsidy will be confirmed shortly, to each Union. NACRA has received the tournament grant from the IRB and a part subsidy can be released to Unions forthwith so as to allows teams to reserve / secure their flights.

 

Accommodation:

Details of the accommodation packages have been circulated to all Unions. NACRA strongly advises all teams to select one of the two hotel options on the attached. Both of these are close to the stadium. The rates offered by both are excellent and since travel in Mexico City can be very problematic, it is important that all teams are located near to the stadium venue. Please reserve your accommodation directly with the hotel. Mexico RFU will be arranging local transportation.

 

Eligibility:

All players, of all teams, including those who are neither Associate or Full Members of the IRB must adhere to the IRB Eligibility Regulations (IRB Reg. 8.), namely:

 

 

Note:

Players competing for teams that qualify for the 2010 CACSO Games will also have to be the holder a passport from the country they represent. However, this criteria will not apply to the 2009 NACRA Sevens.    

 

Visa Requirements:

Shortly, NACRA will be forwarding a Visa Information Sheet for all countries that need a visa to enter Mexico. The Mexican Migration Institute has confirmed to the Mexico RFU, that they shall establish a Task Group to expedite the paperwork for those countries who require visas.

 

Important - Confirmation of Participation:

All Unions are asked to confirm the participation of both their men's and women's teams by Monday September 7th 2009.
